Dave is a pastor who has degrees from Westmont College (Sociology), Talbot Theological Seminary (M Div), and Western Seminary (D Min). Over the years he has had the privilege of being the lead pastor at three churches – Agoura Bible Fellowship in Agoura Hills, California, Bethany Bible Church in Phoenix, Arizona, and Bridges Community Church in Los Altos, California. He has also taught several hundred Live Events for Walk Thru the Bible Ministries.
Bernice has a degree in Psychology and has focused on raising her family and leading various ministries in the church, particularly helping Music Pastors plan and lead worship services where people can connect with God and each other.
Today Dave and Bernice live in the San Francisco Bay Area where Dave is the Lead Pastor at Bridges Community Church. They are committed to helping people grow in their understanding of who God is and what it means to follow Him – which includes encouraging and equipping people to become disciples and then to make disciples.
Along the way Dave has also hosted a weekday radio program and written five books: Bible StoryBoards, Owner’s Guide to Using Your Bible, Before You Live Together, Before You Get Engaged, and Just One More Thing: Before You Leave Home. He’d tell you he couldn’t have done any of that without Bernice by his side.

The Team behind Bible StoryBoards
The idea for Bible StoryBoards began as the Gudgel family sat around talking while on our annual family vacation up at Flathead Lake in Montana. As we discussed the possibilities for using pictures and an app as a tool to help people around the world come to understand the incredible story of God’s love for us, the entire family jumped on board. Through collaboration and each person using their unique giftedness, Bible StoryBoards came to life. Special thanks to our kids - Brent & Danielle Gudgel, Brian & Mary Gudgel, and Brachen & Katie Millikan.
Though along the way many people have helped us with this project, two people have been indispensable in making Bible StoryBoards a reality. Grant & Laurie Grueninger joined with us and brought their techie and business expertise into the mix. We could not have made this idea, which became a dream, become a reality without them!
