There are three things that all new Christians need to know and do as they begin the journey of walking with God. When you look at the story God tells us in the Bible, these three things are very clear.
One – God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. It’s not a religion or a list of do’s and don’ts; it’s a relationship. From the beginning of time as we know it, that’s what God has wanted. That’s why He created this world and mankind.
Two – That relationship is based on what Jesus did for us and not on what we do.
God knows that in spite of our best efforts, we can’t save ourselves or walk with Him in our own strength. Jesus made it possible for us to have a relationship with God. He will also help us walk with Him. And when we fail, it’s the condition of our heart that He is most concerned about.
Three – He wants us to walk through this world in a way that demonstrates love for Him and love for others. He wants us to wake up each morning and ask Him to help us walk through the day making conscious choices to love Him and to love others.
